Out on the Town
There are a few ways you can view being out on the town. The first is by living it up. You can go to fancy restaurants, bars, and/or clubs. You just have one hell of a time. The other way is through sightseeing. The popular sights are always a must, but I recommend going to sights that are off the beaten path. I am glad to say I did both. With no bills to pay, no job to go to and not a care in the world, you need to live it up while you are on vacation. Paint the town red as they say. Besides, let the future “you” worry about all of that stuff. You need to live in the present. Below are a few stories of what I did out on the town in London. The only stories missing are the ones I cannot have evidence of.
Sightseeing in London
During the day, there was only a few things I could do. Since I had class and homework during the week, being out on the town was a little bit of a struggle. Choosing one area to visit during the week days was my best option. “Area” is the key word here. One section of a city can have multiple sights to see. I went all over. This includes Trafalgar Square, Big Ben/House of Parliament, The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and a whole other lot of places. Using the Tube or the bus system is an extremely efficient way to get around. My friends and I were able to take in more than one sight quite a few times. My favorite place I went to was Trafalgar Square. I admit, I am a little bit of a museum junky. I can spend all day in that area.
The Nightlife
As mentioned in some of the previous blogs, college students are always going to be college students. I can say my friends and I painted London more than just red. I also may not be an expert on the London nightlife, but I do know a few places that delivered a memorable night out. For a quaint little club, Ruby Blue is a great spot. However, Tiger Tiger is my favorite club and provides the most variety. It is five levels of non-stop fun. It includes a regular bar, a disco-tech, a hip-hop floor, and two club music floors. There really is something for everyone at this place. After you exit one of these places, make sure you have a way home. Otherwise, you will end up trying to ride a horse statue and walking around London until 4 A.M. Remember, it doesn’t matter what you do, just do something.
